A small production company that I have worked with for years on some narrative stuff approached me a few months ago with an idea for a short film to be entered in a film contest called the ABC's of Death. Basically, 25 famous horror directors got together and shot 25 shorts relating a letter of the alphabet to death. The competition is to find the 26th director. The letter we were given was T. I have really been trying to think about the future when it comes to my gear. I wont be using the 5Dmkii forever, so I have been looking to make some upgrades. To start off, I am looking at upgrading my Ikan VL7 monitor to the new SmallHD DP6 monitor. The DP6 has HDMI as well as SDI and and component. The VL7 only has one usable connection, which is HDMI. There are not many cameras that use that as a reliable connection, which is why the HD/SDI on the DP6 would be great.
